We've been thinking that Jacob needs a bigger bike for a couple of months now, so last night we let him pick one out. Did he get the motorcycle looking one? Nope. Did he get the spiderman one? Nope. He got the green one. In all fairness it does have a picture of two cars on the front, but I don't know if he noticed.

Anyway, he took it for a spin last night when we got home. There is a slight slope at the end of our sidewalk (that leads into the street). When we got to it, we checked our breaking skills, which he had demonstrated adequately on flat surfaces. Then I told him that if he got going too fast he could drive onto the grass and that would slow him down.

True to his ultra conservative nature, he drove into the grass just as he started down the hill. Unfortunately he turned a little too sharp and ended up face planting (darn those training wheels, if only he could have leaned into the turn). Anyway, he didn't waste anytime getting up, walking his bike down the hill and then continuing his ride, what a sport.

  1. Awwww, thats so cute! We need to get Hunter a new bike, too! Did he out grow his? No, he left it in the street (for the millionth time) and it got ran over (just like we told him it would). He's been bike-less for a few months now, so we're thinking he probably suffered enough!

  2. Did you hang on to the crippled bike? If so you could hang it on the wall and always point to it as a reminder... Or use it as a threat: "if you don't clean your room I'm gonna run over your bike, just like I did the last time!"

  3. Thats a good idea! We still do have the old one, Chris tried to fix it... Even siccing the blow torch on it wouldn't get the metal to bend back into place.
