First day of class was a little scary... I wonder how much I have to do to get a B- (which is the lowest I can go while fulfilling my requirement). I will say this, the 100 pages (of the 130 assigned) I've read have been interesting.

Our home teacher came over today. He doesn't know how great he is as an example of a disciple of Christ. Hmm, still another 47.75 hours left for me to do my home teaching (well, visit one family we missed)...

We blessed Makaylin today. The blessing was somewhat short; something she was promised was the gift of faith and the gift of knowledge, which I thought was kind of cool. Rachel's parents and a good friend, Kristina, spent the day with us.

While I was watching the boys today, Jacob fell asleep on me while I was working (at the computer). After a little while I decided that 5pm was not a good time to take a nap, so I put on some rock music on from pandora. Jacob woke up, but after a while we (he) started to wonder where Ethan was (since he was in charge of watching Ethan and I while Rachel was gone).

Anyway, we didn't hear any noises and Ethan didn't respond when we yelled his name, so we got up to check upstairs and there he was! on the second step, a foot away, asleep!

Today I sat through some more grad school orientation. It wasn't too bad as I got to know a few of the other students, and they fed us lunch at an Indian restaurant. While at lunch, I was sitting at a table for four, all of the seats were taken, so the department head pulled up a chair to sit with us. Because it was a buffet, he left to go and get his food, but another professor, one of my favorites, was looking for a place to sit. I told her (Zena) to come and take the seat as Andrzej was going to sit with us if she didn't. She did, and when Andrzej came back he said something about her not getting her next pay raise, and she said something about getting the money out of me since I talked her into taking his seat.

While eating I announced that we had a little girl over the summer break, Zena asked how I could be so relaxed with all of the stuff going on in my life and I told her that I didn't take any of Steve's deadlines very seriously (he's my boss and was sitting near by). She then asked if we had any help; I told her that Rachel is no ordinary woman.

Makaylin will smile for Rachel, and probably Jacob (she likes to show me how loud she can cry). She has done so for a while now, but tonight she laughed, twice! She was sleeping and we heard her make a little grunt/laugh. I thought it was a grunt, Rachel was voting for a laugh, and then we heard it again, much more pronounced and a little longer, a laugh! She then woke up and we tried to get her to smile or laugh to no avail.

No point in going back and trying to fill in the past few weeks (month?). Today I sat through GTF/GRF (the research fellowship I have for school this next year) orientation. It wasn't too bad as I had my netbook (little laptop) with me and was able to do some programming. Classes start on Tuesday and I'll be really busy working 40 hours, taking one of the 'core' required classes, working on a final project, and sitting in on a seminar I really want to take. Basically, I might have a nervous breakdown and drop out of school.
