Some have suggested that three kids will be easier than two, I don't believe it (although we've yet to have three).

One week Rachel was sick, so she and Ethan stayed home from chruch. I took Jacob and left the diaper bag (aka toy bag) at home. Jacob was never better behaved.

On the flight down to Denver we had three seats that were next to each other (it was first class, so two seats together and one in front of them). Ethan fell asleep for as long as it took Jacob to discover that he was (although Rachel and Ethan did end up taking a good nap).

On the flight back to Eugene we had four seats (as the plane wasn't full and no one wanted to sit by a 2 year old) . Two of the seats were in row 4 and two were in row 10. I sat next to Jacob for the first part of the flight and Ethan for the second half. Both halves were peaceful.

So my point here is that right now we can play 2 on 2 and actually keep the kids happy (as long as they can't see or hear each other). So what do we do when it's 2 on 3?

A while back I saw a headline that looked something like "house robbed after man twittered about going on vacation." We are home now. Rachel, the kids, and I took off to the Eugene airport on the 15th, only to return home after no plane would take us (we were going standby), so we drove to Portland on the 16th (at 3 am) and got on the second flight (even got first class) heading out to Denver. We then spent a week hanging out at my mom's preschool, which was pretty fun:

Jacob likes to wake up at the crack of dawn and come running in our room yelling "it's sunny, it's time to get up guys!" Which is really annoying at 5 am, so we got some darkening shades for their window. This morning at 9 am when I was studying for my final (which I may have failed) he comes out of his room looking very dazed and confused... then he says (with a wrinkled brow) "is it sunny out here for you guys?"

I got to know a really nice couple yesterday; he's been a member for a long time and she's come to church for something like 20 years (but is not a member). Anyway I was going to meet the missionaries over there to watch a movie (I think it's called Praise to the Man), but they never showed up (they are really, really bad about respecting people's time). So we chatted for a half-hour and I feel like I really got to know them (I've been over to there house before, and we talk almost every Sunday, but it's mostly church related). 

Well, when the missionaries didn't show up I was glad I had taken a few minutes to read my scriptures as there are a lot of really good verses in Mosiah chapters 7-9. So I guess the moral of the story is that you don't have to be all church all the time but it helps to read your scriptures every now and then.

Ok, so I just posted all of my twitter into the blog, you might be thinking, why? Well, the blog is part of my journal so I wanted to get it in. 

Two weeks ago: I went to Vancouver B.C. for a conference. It was pretty awesome and I hope to go as often as I can (it's a yearly deal, but I bet there are other good conferences out there). Next year it's in South Africa so I probably won't be going... But I did read the tourist safety tips for visiting South Africa, one of them said not to ask strangers to help you with your atm transactions ;)

Since then I've been paying for missing a week of school.

But we did get a van last Saturday. We are pretty happy with it as it has a built in car seat (once we saw the seat we knew this van was ours and that we truly were uncool, forever).

Jacob is currently with his grandma & papa Rogers @ the beach. Sounds like he's having a good time and I hope his grandparents are too.
